Alan R Tremain is a professional textile artist and Australia’s longest practising male quilt designer. He tutors on the Central Coast of New South Wales and has over 40 years’ experience. Alan operates as Oz Quilt Design and co-ordinates the design of exhibitions, projects, workshops and classes using textiles as a common medium.
In past years he has been a frequent tutor at popular local, national and international residential craft schools. Alan’s passion for sharing his knowledge and techniques is highly evident by his popularity as a textiles tutor, including quilting, dyeing, creative heirloom and its accessories. Alan has been a Martha Pullen Licensed Heirloom Tutor since May 2004 and is the only Australian male to attain this qualification. Alan has also designed a number of exhibitions for craft groups and stands for commercial participants in craft trade fairs. This website presents Alan’s quilts and other textiles in the Gallery section. All items with price indicated are for sale by arrangement and you can make further enquiries about any quilt via our Contact page. Additional photos can be sent to you of items you are interested in purchasing. Shipping can be arranged anywhere in the world. Quilting workshops and sewing classes are held at Narara Community Centre and Yaringaa at Peninsula Communiy Centre precinct Woy Woy on the New South Wales Central Coast, or you can propose a workshop at another location.
